Memorial concert on the 250th anniversary of the Battle of Minden
Together with guest choirs from England and France, the church choir of the Christian church of Minden-Todtenhausen will perform a choir and orchestra concert in memory of the 250th anniversary of the battle. The cantata „Dona nobis pacem“ by the Englishman Ralph Vaughan Williams (1872-1958) will be contrasted with the „Ode über den Sieg von Thonhausen bey Minden” (“Ode about the victory of Thonhausen near Minden“) and the letter of the English soldier Thomas Thomsen from the military hospital Minden from 18th August 1759 as well as the requiem of the Frenchman Maurice Durufle (1902-1986).
